HPD’s Alternative Enforcement Program is a method of enhanced enforcement for 250 of the city’s most distressed residential buildings each year. Buildings are selected for the program based on the open violation, volume of emergency repair work and other criteria. Aside from violation correction, extensive repairs may be needed before the building is discharge from the AEP program.
